Welcome to Hermitage!
Hermitage is a happy and vibrant one-and-a-half form entry primary school situated in the historic area of Wapping. We are proud of our lovely, friendly children, who come from a very wide range of backgrounds. Our children love learning so much that, by the time they leave us, they are achieving results which are above national average.
We are a short walk from the Tower of London; Tower Bridge and St Katharine’s Docks and we work hard to ensure that our pupils can make the most of this amazing location! Our curriculum develops skills and knowledge progressively over eight years and reflects our multicultural community and location in London. Wherever possible, we take a creative approach to learning and offer a broad curriculum to all our pupils.
Although we are close to the centre of London, we have extensive, unpolluted grounds which include a pond and wildlife area and a community growing space. Our children enjoy music lessons throughout their time in school and we enjoy working with visiting specialists - recent projects include concerts at The Royal Albert Hall and the O2 and an ongoing partnership with the Unicorn Theatre.
Our children’s wellbeing is very important to us and we have a skilled pastoral team who ensure that every child gets the support they need. We are a fully inclusive school and will soon be opening a dedicated provision for pupils with autism, further enhancing our offer for children with specific learning needs.
We have tried to include everything that you might like to know on this website but, if you would like to see us in person, please call the school office as we would love to show you around.
We look forward to meeting you!
